The 2008 Grand Convocation is now history. Congratulations to Gomidas Tahlij and Talar Otyag for an OUTSTANDING convocation. Our newest lodge and Otyag did a tremendous job and everyone had a great time!
Congratulations to our new Avak Sbarabed Haig and the members of his Avak Tivan. I know they will do a great job. They are a very dedicated group of men.
We are uploading the pictures from the convocation and trying to add some captions. Your web master forgot his camera charger and had to rely on another camera (thanks Ara). It will take a couple more days to get everything cleaned up.
It is now 8am on Monday July 7th and I am back at work in my office. It was a long and busy weekend. I am going through post Grand Convocation syndrom (PGCS). For two years you worry about getting this report out, mailing the next directive, preparing minutes from some meeting, your mind is always thinking about what you have to do next. All of a sudden you are now sitting there and you have to turn your mind off of it. When I went to sleep last night, I had to stop thinking about Avak Tivan work. Our work is done. Past Grand Commander Bob and the rest of the former Avak Tivan can now take a breath and relax.
So what happens next? The web page will transition over to a new web master. Until that happens, I will continue to keep it updated as much as I can. We will be updating the pictures and the list of officers and other small details over the next few days.

Almost there!
Your Avak Tivan has been working hard getting ready for San Diego. There are reports to get ready, books to print, sign up sheets to print, lots of work to get done! But we're almost there. The Avak Tivan report book looks nice this year.
Can't wait to get to San Diego.

Things have been slow on the web page this past couple of weeks.
I guess everyone is getting ready for the Grand Convocation. San Diego should be great!
A few of the members of the Avak Tivan have been visiting lodges in California this past couple of weeks. Ardaz and Sevan with Daron and Ghevont coming up in May.

New Web Page
As promised here is the new Knights of Vartan Web Page!
A year and a half after creating the first Web page, it is now updated. Like I said in the previous post, I took the page out of "Frames" and into CSS. As much as I like frames, I had to get rid of them (not good web page design).
I am sure there will be a few bugs to work out. I will leave this blog open for comments.
If there is something that doesn't work in your web browser or something I have missed or needs corrections, let us know. Either email the webmaster or add a comment to this blog.

The KV Blog
Welcome!
Welcome to the KV Blog. In the process of re-designing the Knights of Vartan web site, I thought it would be interesting to create a blog and see what kind of response it brings. I was planning on putting this on the new web site, but that is still in development. I have been working on the redesign of the KV web page for a couple of weeks. Not a simple process. Why you might ask are you doing this? Well the KV web page was done in "Frames", not the best way, but was easy and quick at the time. So I "bit the bullet" and started a new design. Same material, but arranged a little different. The KV web page is produced on my Mac using Freeway. Now that version 5 is almost out, I can do this a little easier. So check back, hopefully in another week (or two) and you will see the new page.
